AM Technology Flow Chemistry

Flow Testing Services

Our in-house R&D facilities enable us to provide a range of services to our clients such as continuous process R&D and optimisation, technology transfer from batch to flow, scalability trials from R&D to pilot-plant and commercial feasibility studies.

Our state-of-the-art laboratories are well-equipped with analytical and process equipment to test and assess customer-specific processes. Composed of scientists, chemical & mechanical engineers, our team of experts design, setup and carry out experiments according to your own specific requirements, with  submission of a full report of our findings on completion.

Engineering Design

An Engineering Design service can be provided to assist you in assessing the commercial viability of converting your process from batch to continuous flow. Our team can design custom systems of equipment on process skids to fit in alongside upstream or downstream processes.

Optimisation

We can assist in developing and optimising a particular chemical process to improve process efficiency. This can be part of a process currently employed at your plant, or a process designed and tested in our own laboratories.

Material Handling

Material handling tests are a great way to gather an understanding of the peripheral equipment (such as pumps) that will be required to run your process in flow.

Scale-up

The Coflore range offers a unique opportunity to scale your specific chemical process from the laboratory, to pilot plant, to production scales with ease. Our team of experts can assist with scaling up from the laboratory to pilot and production scale.

Technology Transfer

If you have an existing batch chemical process, our chemists can work with you to convert this into flow. We can perform testing to make this process as efficient as possible, such as through decreasing reaction time.

Our experience working with chemical processes at production-scale allows us to focus on flow chemistry testing at R&D scale that can then be scaled up feasibly from an engineering and commercial standpoint. AM Technology offer a consultancy service to assist you in assessing the commercial viability of converting a particular process from batch to continuous flow.  Cost savings can include those associated with both capital and operating expenditure such as, energy, space-saving, safety management, reduction in feedstock costs, labour costs and capacity utilisation.

The AM Technology R&D laboratories are fully equipped - we have in-house HPLC, LCMS, GCMS and NIR analytical equipment and a wide-range of peripheral equipment typically required for continuous flow chemistry such as peristaltic, diaphragm, progressive cavity, centrifugal and syringe pumps plus a range of Huber and Julabo TCUs. Our mini autoclave allows us to verify and translate above-ambient pressure reactions into flow.

Clients are always welcome to be present on-site at AM Technology during any testing.
